Get the device manual
The manufacturer’s manual is your most important tool.
Before trial, check the courthouse / prosecution website — many Ontario offices post speed-measuring device manuals online (e.g. York, Durham, Toronto, Prescott-Russell). Search your courthouse name + ‘speed measuring device manual’ or ‘disclosure speeding’.
If it isn’t posted, demand it in writing in your disclosure request. Read it carefully — the cross-examination in this course is device-generic, but the most effective cross comes from knowing the specific manual for the device used in your case.
