The big idea

The strongest defence is a prepared, organized, credible defendant.

Many defendants assume certified evidence puts them at a disadvantage because the officer doesn’t attend. Often the opposite is true: a certified evidence trial lets the court focus on the actual evidence — the certificate of offence and the credibility of your testimony.

The strongest defence here is usually not a technical argument. It’s a well-prepared, organized, and credible defendant. The key question is never whether the officer is present — it’s whether the prosecutor has proven the charge beyond a reasonable doubt after all the evidence is considered.
